A comedy about the joys and worries of a country stationer. Rural stationer Cyril Putička is persuaded by his adult children to sell his business and move to Prague to join them. After much insistence, Putička agrees. But he can't rest and is bored in a luxurious Prague apartment. One day, he therefore decides to find a job in a stationery store - perhaps without pay. The newly opened shop of the young widow Jarmila Valentová catches his eye. He almost has to force himself on her in order to be her guide. Not only will he help the resigned owner to bring the business back to prosperity, but he will also give her the meaning of life back... A comedy about the joys and sorrows of a small tradesman was filmed by director Vladimír Slavínský in the middle of the protectorate period. He chose Vlasta Burian for the main role, who shined here again - despite his unusually moderate acting. The king of comedians did not forgive himself one of his great numbers - a fight with a folding ironing board, which is a variation on his famous Greco-Roman match with a chair. Zita Kabátová played alongside him, and Věra Ferbasová, Raoul Száchníl and Antonín Streit played the roles of children. Resources and information https://www.csfd.cz/film/8537-zlate-d...
