In 2015, volunteer engineers from Kyoto Toyota came together to restore all the parts of this first-generation Crown over the course of about a year. Many engineers were involved in this project, and the level of completion is unparalleled. It is usually on display at GR Garage Kyoto Fushimi, but this time, GR consultants "Ogusan" and "Shinchan" went on a long drive in the first-generation Crown, so we will report on their experience. Their destination was the Toyota Automobile Museum in Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture. A vehicle without air conditioning or seat belts! Could a vehicle made when the Meishin Expressway had not yet been opened be able to run safely? Could a vehicle maintained by Kyoto Toyota engineers return to Kyoto without any problems? Along the way, we will also explain various functions, so please enjoy them. This time, we asked the director of the Toyota Automobile Museum to drive Kyoto Toyota's first-generation Crown and experience it for himself! The director himself accelerated the first-generation Crown and there were many development secrets. The director's introduction to the museum was also full of very educational stories, such as the history of the Japanese automobile industry and the historical background seen from vehicle catalogs. It's a long video at 40 minutes, but please watch until the end. Finally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Mr. Nunakagi, the director of the Toyota Automobile Museum, and to everyone who cooperated with us.
