GOD CARES ABOUT OUR SITUATION! 7/22/2023 Exodus 5: God told Moses to meet Pharaoh, the people suffered more, blamed Moses, God promised to rescue His people. Exodus 6:5-8. 5 I also heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians held in bondage, and I remembered my covenant. 6 Therefore say to the Israelites: I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will redeem you from their bondage; I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. 7 I will take you for my people, and I will be your God; and you shall know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. 8 I will bring you into the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, and will give it to you as an inheritance: I am the LORD. 1. God cares when I am troubled! (verse 5) God hears my sighing! What do I sigh about all day long? Psalm 30:11. He has turned my mourning into joy, he has loosened my sackcloth, and girded me with joy. 2. God cares about what I am subject to! (verse 5) Difference between burden and bondage: A burden is a concern, a worry about problems. Bondage: What is it that we are subject to. What is controlling our lives? Bad habits, passions? Consequences, fears? Romans 6:22. But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, your fruit will be holiness, and the end will be eternal life. 3. God cares about our burdens! (verse 6) God's promise came at a time of great weariness. Making bricks without straw required using stubble and paying in full, and being beaten. Our burdens are important to God. Name each of your burdens before God. Matthew 11:28, 30. Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Isaiah 28:12. He said to them, "This is the rest; give rest to the weary. This is the coolness for you." But they would not listen. Psalm 55:22. Cast your burden on the LORD, and he shall sustain you. Psalm 68:19. Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burdens, even the God of our salvation. 4. God cares about our liberty! (verse 6) Genesis 2:16. The LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 1 Peter 2:16. Live as free men, yet do not use your liberty as a pretext for evil, but as slaves of God. Luke 4:19. Prophecy concerning the Messiah: He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised; Galatians 5:1. For freedom Christ hath set us free; stand fast therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. 2 Corinthians 3:17. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 5. God cares about our relationship with Him! (verse 7) Psalm 96:7, 8a. For He is our God; we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you will hear His voice, 8 Do not harden your hearts as at Meribah… The strong bond between God and us, a covenant! 6. God cares about our happy life! (verse 8) Leading into the promised land of Canaan. Pillars of cloud and fire, day and night! Happiness in this life and in the next. He wants to provide for our needs. God wants to keep His promises. 1 Corinthians 2:9. What no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has conceived, the things God has prepared for those who love him.
