Kinshozan, located 5km north of Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture, is a limestone mountain, and limestone has been mined there since ancient times. The stones are quarried in stepped formations, and more and more people are now calling them the "Gifu Pyramids." In addition, the Seino Railway, the shortest railway line in Japan with an operating section of just 1.3km, was established for the purpose of transporting limestone.
