Located on the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula, Gibraltar is a British overseas territory that attracts tourists with its unique cultural mix, rich history and spectacular views. Gibraltar's attractions are so diverse that everyone will definitely find something for themselves. Gibraltar can be visited during a one-day trip or you can come here for a longer stay, e.g. during a holiday in southern Spain. Visiting Gibraltar is an unforgettable adventure. Visitors can admire panoramic views from the top of the Rock of Gibraltar, which rises to a height of 426 meters above sea level. The rock is home to the famous Barbary macaques, which are the only wild monkeys in Europe. These cute animals are one of the main attractions in Gibraltar and often become unofficial guides to the nature reserve. They are a symbol of the region and are happy to pose for photos with tourists. You can go up the Rock of Gibraltar by cable car or on foot if you are not afraid of climbing while on holiday in Spain. If you decide to take the cable car, it is worth buying a one-way ticket, because you will see most of the attractions in Gibraltar by going down the rock anyway. The rock also has a system of caves, including St. Michael's Cave, which impresses with its natural rock formations, which are the backdrop for audiovisual shows. Other popular attractions in Gibraltar include the Great Siege Tunnels, which are a testament to the military past of the territory. The World War II tunnels are another fascinating part of the underground labyrinth, which holds many secrets. The entire tunnel system carved into the Rock of Gibraltar is over 50 km long! For history buffs, Gibraltar has the Moorish Castle, one of the oldest surviving buildings in Gibraltar and a glimpse into its medieval past. For those who prefer something more modern, the Gibraltar Skywalk is a glass-enclosed viewing platform that offers spectacular views of three countries on two continents. Exploring Gibraltar also includes strolling along Main Street, the heart of Gibraltar’s shopping, where you can find shops selling everything from local souvenirs to luxury goods. Additionally, Gibraltar has a range of museums and galleries that showcase both local heritage and contemporary art. Mediterranean restaurants and bars, as well as British fish and chips, are another highlight of Gibraltar’s attractions. In short, Gibraltar is a place that combines the beauty of nature, a wealth of culture and history, and modern amenities. Gibraltar’s attractions are so diverse that each visit can reveal new aspects of this extraordinary place. When planning your visit to Gibraltar, prepare for unforgettable experiences that will stay with you long after you return home.
