Ghazali Cinema Town is located in the west of Tehran and was built in 1979 by Ali Hatami. The main part of the decor of the streets and buildings of this town dates back to the Reza Shah era and the early reign of Mohammad Reza Shah, which is used to make films and series centered on old Tehran. Although Ghazali Town has been renamed "Iranian Cinema and Television Town", many people still know it by the name Ghazali Town. This town is one of the most important places to see in Tehran, and walking through it is like traveling to different times in history; Ali Hatami was a prominent filmmaker whose lasting works were not limited to his films, and one of his most important efforts was the construction of Ghazali Cinema Town in 1979. The sets and buildings of Ghazali Cinema City are based on real buildings, and Lalehzar Street, which is the main part of the cinema city, was built by Ali Hatami. However, over time, other parts were added to it as other series were made in this complex. This city is considered one of the most important cinema complexes in the country, where numerous Iranian films and series such as Sarbedaran, Imam Ali (AS), Maryam Moghaddas, English Bag, Shab Dahom, Men of Angels, Shahrzad, etc. have been made. Ghazali Cinema City is under the supervision of the Iranian Broadcasting Organization. Ali Hatami needed a special location to film the Hezardastan television series that would showcase the geographical and urban conditions of the early 14th century. Thus, the plan to build Ghazali Cinema City in Tehran was initiated with his efforts and the cooperation of the late Valiollah Khakdan. For this purpose, they considered a 10-hectare plot of land in the west of Tehran on the side of the Tehran-Karaj highway and prepared photographs of buildings, government mansions, neighborhoods and streets of Tehran, clothes, etc. Hatami went to Italy and, accompanied by an Italian painter, made sketches of documents and photographs and prepared small paintings in the "Chita Cheetah" cinema town. Then, with the help of Gianni Cortina, one of the best Italian decorators, he drew a map of the town and brought its model to Iran. After choosing a suitable plot of land, the construction of the town began under the management of Mohammad Mehdi Dadgou in March 1979, and the sets of the complex were finally put into operation by 1983. It is interesting to know that the official opening date of this complex was in 1994, and it grew larger over time; so that its traces can be seen in many Iranian historical series. Lalehzar Street is one of the important parts of the town that has suffered damage over time; in a way that Masoud Jafari Jozani renovated the entire Lalehzar complex with his own budget during the production of the series "In the Eye of the Wind". The locations of Ghazali Town are divided into three parts, which are: Pre-Islamic period sets and buildings with an area of ​​15,000 square meters, which have been used for the series Maryam Muqaddas, Basharat Manji, and Setareh Khazra. Post-Islamic period sets and buildings with an area of ​​35,000 square meters, where the series Muslim Children, Last Call, The Loneliest Sardar, Velayat Eshgah, and... have been filmed. Contemporary period sets and buildings with an area of ​​62,000 square meters, which you have seen in the series Madar Zero Degree, Bag English, Shab Dahm, Sarmazin Kohan, Shahrzad, Cheshm Bad, and Jahan Pahlevan Takhti. The old houses and alleys of Old Tehran form the most important part of Ghazali Cinema Town, where you can step into the era of the Qajar kings, when your grandparents were living there. Some of the places to see in this town include Topkhaneh Square, Lalehzar Street, Ekbatan Street, Ghazarian Jewelry Store, Grand Hotel, Municipality Building, Adlieh Building, Shahabad Building, and Pars Cafe, which represent Old Tehran from 1315 to 1320. Several shops selling snacks, hats, rhinestones, scarves, and CDs are active in this town. In the summer, you can also visit shops selling ice cream or drinks, which are slightly more expensive than outside. Another attraction of this town is the historical film actors' clothing stalls, where you can choose a dress to your taste and take pictures with different locations in the town for a fee. Meanwhile, the traffic of old cars on the cobblestone streets has its own special charm. In addition to taking photos in the Old Tehran Atelier, you can use a carriage or old cars to tour the locations of Old Tehran. Nostalgic cafes and restaurants have been built in Ghazali Cinema Town, which are one of its attractive and spectacular parts. From the Grand Hotel Restaurant, which is memorable and a good subject for photography, to the Pars Old Tehran Cafe, as well as the Naderi Cafe, whose decor and paintings are attractive to every visitor. Kabir Restaurant is also a familiar name for fans of the TV series Shahrzad. After exploring the town, you can go to the Grand Hotel Restaurant and treat yourself to a meal. Since some of the sets in Tehran's Ghazali Cinema Town lack the necessary standards, they can be dangerous for visitors; especially since there are no guards at the locations. In fact, on stormy days, some parts of the building facades are torn off or do not have proper connections, and are therefore dangerous and endanger the safety of the town. The lack of brochures, maps, and signboards are also among the factors that reduce the attractiveness of tourism in it.
