Niels Lentjes (15) started a manure trading company called Mesthandel Niels Lentjes (MNL) bv together with his mother at the age of twelve. In a portrait, this week in Boerderij, an extensive story about this young manure broker who, according to his advisor, 'is making a huge name for himself'. Lentjes' mother has the bv in her name, but is otherwise not involved in the business. MNL mediates in manure transports and, if necessary, arranges for a contractor to bring the manure to the land. Last year, the young manure dealer was involved in the transport of 650,000 tons of manure. In 2007, that was 450,000 tons of manure. In quiet times, the young entrepreneur arranges 200-350 loads per week in his 'free' time, before and after school. In busy times, it is 1,500.
