Get Rid of Obsessive Thoughts! In addition to the examples I mentioned at the beginning of the video, someone with obsessive thoughts may believe that just thinking about getting into a car accident or contracting a serious illness makes these events more likely to happen. These people may even believe that if they have the thought, it means that the event will happen. And when they think they can do something to prevent the event from happening, they may develop their own rituals and coping strategies. When this happens, we may be talking about OCD - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Instead of letting their thoughts come and go, people with obsessive thoughts take personal responsibility for these thoughts.
