A look into the future shows a much hotter Germany in 2050 - the country is heating up faster - with 2.5 degrees of warming. Hot and dry summers like those from 2018 to 2022 will then be the norm, as will extremely mild winters. Heavy rain and flooding will occur more frequently, while in many places it will be drier than today. Our lives will be more expensive in 2050 due to climate change. And less secure. If we look into the future, a generation after 2050, climate science shows us that with rapid, drastic climate protection, temperatures could settle at a hotter but stable level from 2050 onwards. If we do not manage to reduce emissions, our lives will change much more radically - in many areas. We want to take a closer look at three of them in the series. The first episode deals with the topic of health. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Explainer videos from ZEIT ONLINE on political, scientific and social topics can be found here: • Explainer from ZEIT ONLINE You can see background information, impressions and personal stories in the documentaries and reports from ZEIT ONLINE: • Documentaries & reports from ZEIT ONLINE #climatechange #climateaction #zeitonline
