Angie and Holm moved from Germany to Hungary, near Lake Balaton, a year ago. Their neighbor, Herbert, also German, has been living here for 16 years. He has already learned Hungarian and built a “Westernpark” in Nemesvita. “We are already half Hungarian,” they say. Hungary is an attractive destination for Germans, especially German retirees, for whom their money is worth more here and they can get real estate much cheaper than in their homeland.
