Gerhard Rüdiger Gundermann (* February 21, 1955 in Weimar; † June 21, 1998 in Spreetal) was a German songwriter and rock musician. In the GDR, the excavator driver Gundermann was considered the mouthpiece of the people in the Lusatian lignite mining area from the 1980s onwards. After German reunification, he devoted himself more to environmental protection and expressed criticism of social developments in eastern Germany. His songs, which often have a melancholic undertone, sometimes reflect a very personal confrontation with the topics of life, death and dying. Because the topics are conveyed in this way, Gundermann's songs are considered to be borne by a personal authenticity. Source: Wikipedia https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerhard...
