Large-scale protests against the government's decision to suspend talks on joining the European Union resumed in Georgia on Friday evening. The largest protest took place in Tbilisi, and despite the arrests the day before, even more people came. Security forces used tear gas, water cannons, and firecrackers could be heard popping. Protest marches also took place in Batumi, Kutaisi and other cities. Georgian President Salome Zarubishvili called the protesters a "Resistance Movement" and expressed her solidarity with them.
