The “Sempre um Papo” project and Sesc SP present a series of meetings that bring together indigenous writers and artists involved in the struggles of native peoples, to discuss topics that converge towards a broader vision of culture, nature, ancestry and sustainability, among other subjects. The first two guests were Geni Nuñez and Ailton Krenak, who discussed the theme “Music, World(s) and Literature”. The event was held at the Antunes Filho Theater at Sesc Vila Mariana, with free admission. July 26, 2023 These meetings value cultural diversity by making the knowledge and practices of indigenous peoples visible, in addition to addressing the challenges and processes of cultural strengthening resulting from the choice to record their knowledge through alphabetical writing. Literature has been a possible path for the expression of other ways of being and existing in the world, as it allows indigenous cosmologies and thoughts to circulate broadly among different generations, ethnicities, regions and countries. Reading these books reveals the diversity of indigenous voices that resonate in Brazil and, above all, the importance of listening to them so that we can learn to coexist on this Earth with its countless beings, both human and non-human. Sempre Um Papo is a partnership with Sesc and is made possible by the Federal Law for Cultural Incentives of the Special Secretariat for Culture, of the Ministry of Tourism.
