The digestive system is the set of structures that allow for the digestion and absorption of nutrients and water. In this course, we will focus on the principles of the organization of its abdominal portion. The concepts discussed here will be useful for the systematic study of the topographic and descriptive anatomy of this system. Porto-caval anastomoses will be detailed in the courses on the stomach and rectum.
