Galindestellung (Pisa Position) is a German fortification belt stretching along the Pisa River - from Pisz, through towns such as Jeże, Kozioł, Turośl, to its mouth on the Narew, near Nowogród. The position was built in 1940 along the new border between the Soviet Union and Germany, which was created as a result of the aggression against Poland. A characteristic element of this position are resistance points, usually defending bridges or other important roads leading deep into the province of East Prussia. During a quick, several-hour trip to the border of Kurpie and Mazury, I managed to visit the bunkers built near the charming town of Kozioł. This Resistance Point consists of two passive bunkers and one combat bunker. The bunkers were designed to protect the bridge over the Pisa River. The video contains a short and spontaneous report from the trip. I encourage you to discover this region for yourself. I warn you that your appetite grows with eating.
