Broadcast ⏱️Timeline⏱️ 00:00 Highlights 01:38 Main Episode Starts Jeongseon 5-day Market, which first opened in February 1966, is the 2nd and 7th market held every 2nd and 7th day of the month. At the time, it was a small country market selling grains and fish, but after the tourist train started running in 1999, it became famous all over the country, and now it has become a permanent market open on weekdays due to the large number of visitors. On market days, there are about 230 stores and 160 street vendors, creating a lively scene. The highlight of this Jeongseon Market is none other than wild vegetables! The Jeongseon Market in spring is now covered with the green scent of gondeure, chwinamul, gomchwi, and chamnamul just picked from the mountain, forming a veritable 'vegetable paradise'. In fact, for people in Gangwon-do, wild greens were a symbol of 'poverty' as a relief food. The wild greens that had to be eaten not for 'well-being' but to survive are filled with the sorrowful and sad life. Who would have thought that those foods full of sorrow would become such exciting foods after 30 years!
