He is so meticulous in this aspect that he even narrates dates and times, etc. José de Alencar was a Brazilian critic, novelist, playwright and politician. He is remembered as a writer for having been the founder of the national-themed novel, and for being the patron of the chair founded by Machado de Assis at the Brazilian Academy of Letters.
