JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Two days after being named a suspect by the KPK, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto appeared through a recorded statement. Hasto stated that PDIP respects the legal process at the KPK. Hasto also emphasized that PDIP is a party that upholds the supremacy of law. Previously, (24/12) the KPK named Hasto as a suspect in the bribery and obstruction of investigation case of Harun Masiku. In addition to the bribery case to smooth the replacement of Harun Masiku, Hasto Kristiyanto was also charged with the article on obstruction of investigation. Several roles of Hasto Kristiyanto in efforts to obstruct the investigation of the Harun Masiku case were explained by the Chairman of the KPK, Setyo Budianto. One of them, Hasto ordered his employees to soak Harun Masiku's cellphone in water and immediately run away. Since the investigation into the bribery case of the replacement of PDIP legislative candidates began in 2020, the KPK has named 6 suspects. Two people from the election organizers, namely Wahyu Setiawan from the KPU and former Bawaslu member Agustiani Tio Fridelina. While the other four suspects are Harun Masiku, Saeful Bahri and most recently PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah. Three suspects have been sentenced by the judge in this case. Meanwhile, one suspect, Harun Masiku, is still at large. After naming Hasto Kristiyanto, how can the KPK ensure that Harun Masiku, who has been a fugitive since 2020, can be arrested soon?
