THE VERSATILE GUITAR (Matheus Barbosa) Matheus had a musical childhood in his family, which awakened him early to the dedicated and serious study of his instrument. From the interior of Minas Gerais, at the age of 16, he moved to the capital, Belo Horizonte, where he had contact with musicians who helped him build his identity, and who he still works with today. Teaching since the beginning of his contact with music, Matheus is involved in music education through face-to-face classes, online courses, as well as workshops and masterclasses. Currently residing in São Paulo, he develops his own instrumental work and also with artists of different genres. Among the artists and works that Matheus has played, recorded or continues to work with, it is important to mention: The Voice Brasil, Vander Lee, Flávio Venturini, Chico Amaral, Enéias Xavier, Mariana Valadão, Thiago Espirito Santo, Sandro Haick, Ana Gabriela, Marcos Almeida, Pipoquinha, Júnior Braguinha, Lorena Chaves, João Alexandre, among many others. In 2016, the project “Religare” was born, a collaborative album with keyboardist Marcus Abjaud. The album features songs by both and the team is completed by Felipe Continentino on drums and Bruno Velozo, bass. In 2019, Matheus released his EP: “Acrópolis” and in 2021 the EP “Aeon” available on the main streaming platforms.
