"In terms of human strength, this project is absolutely impossible and downright crazy, but that's often the case when God does something," says Father Kilian Müller OCist, subprior from Neuzelle, a Catholic oasis in eastern Brandenburg. This is exactly where a historic project is taking place: the construction of a new Cistercian monastery! Since the project is planned to last for decades, an interim solution was needed: a neglected farm in Treppeln, which is being converted into a provisional monastery, largely by the monks and residents themselves. Regardless of religious beliefs, working together creates connection and unity in a region that is not Christian.
