The second part of the Postalm circuit shows the descent from the Postalm back to Bad Ischl. The bright blue sky provided a dream panorama and the road conditions were also excellent, so that the brakes could be spared a little. To be on the safe side, I had new brake pads fitted the day before, as an 11 km descent makes the brakes glow. The journey then continued through the idyllic Lammertal towards Russbach, where I refreshed myself at the Kirchenwirt. Thanks to his tip, I continued on the old federal road and thus saved myself a section of the busier federal road. The Gschütt Pass at 957 m above sea level was quickly reached and then followed the rapid descent to Gosau. It is worth visiting the Protestant church there; I have never seen numbered seats with nameplates in any church before. After another short descent you reach Lake Hallstatt and I drove along the western shore to Steeg-Gosau station, as the 83 km I had already driven was enough for me and I enjoyed the remaining 15 km to Bad Ischl relaxing on the train. The day ended with a tour of Bad Ischl and of course the obligatory visit to the Zauner pastry shop.
