This time, the M8 line goes from Berlin Central Station to Ahrensfelde on the outskirts of Berlin. The line runs along the new line on Invalidenstraße, which has been in operation since December 14, 2014. It then runs past the Nordbahnhof S-Bahn station and then along Brunnenstraße, Torstraße and Mollstraße to Friedrichshain. It runs past the currently abandoned SEZ through Lichtenberg until it finally reaches Marzahn. Here it crosses the new housing estates (prefabricated housing estates) of the 1980s and ends at the city limits. With a scheduled travel time of 62 minutes in each direction, it is also one of the longest tram lines in the city. The line is mainly operated with the long Flexity trains. Only on the electric cars between Ahrenfelde and Landsberger Allee/Petersburger Straße can you occasionally come across a GT6-N/U/Z.
