Christina Schultze is an #anesthesiologist and #emergency doctor at DIAKOVERE - that means, she mainly works in the operating room at the #Friederikenstift, where she administers anesthesia during operations. But several times a month she also drives as an emergency doctor #NEF - this is the so-called emergency doctor vehicle, which is often called out on an operation when a doctor is needed. In Hanover, the emergency doctor vehicles are provided by the fire department. There are five NEFs in Hanover, one of which is stationed at the #Friederikenstift 24/7. The medical staff for this NEF, the NEF 1, comes from our clinics for anesthesiology, intensive care, emergency and pain medicine as well as orthopedics and #trauma surgery. Christina Schultze starts her 24-hour shift from here and is accompanied each time by an emergency paramedic from the Hanover fire department. On this shift, that is the emergency paramedic and professional firefighter Dennis Tyschper. The range of operations for Christina and Dennis that day is huge: cardiac arrest, resuscitation, shortness of breath, traffic accident. Often seconds count. The two do a great and admirable job that requires an enormous amount of commitment and routine. And we were able to accompany them up close. *Content Note:* This video shows emergency operations.
