He told us how hunger and poverty prevailed in those years and how life was a constant challenge. She showed us the wonderful embroidery she had made when she was young and explained how she created the dyes from tree trunks to color them. Her talent and skill were impressive. When he told us about weddings, it struck us how tradition and ritual were so important back then. Every young woman had to have a dowry, and preparation for marriage was a process steeped in symbolism and tradition. As Grandma Dimitra told us the stories from the past, we discovered the world of belief in demonic beings that influenced people's lives. It was like traveling back in time and living these times together with Grandma Dimitra. Now retired, grandmother Dimitra enjoys the tranquility of the village from the balcony of her house, admiring the fir trees and together we remember her fascinating stories and the rich tradition of the place.
