At that time John the Baptist was standing with two of his disciples, and as soon as he saw Jesus approaching, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!” Two of his disciples heard him say this and followed Jesus. When Jesus turned and saw them following, he asked, “What do you want?” They said to him, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher), “where are you staying?” He said to them, “Come and see.” So they went with him and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. It was about the tenth hour. One of the two who heard John say this and followed him was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah,” which means the Anointed One. And he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon, the son of John; you will be called Cephas, which is translated Peter.” John 1:35-42 January 4, 2025 – Saturday
