The French cherry cake, better known as cherry clafoutis, is in the name. A cherry cake like this is a traditional dessert in France. The ingredients for this clafoutis recipe are almost always found at home. My recipe is an ancient recipe from my mum and an old aunt. So I have known the delicious cherry cake since childhood. Ingredients 5 eggs 250g sugar 250g butter or margarine 190g flour 150g grated chocolate (Santa Claus, Easter bunny or chocolate bars) 200g ground nuts 1 tsp cinnamon 3 tbsp rum (or milk if children are eating!) 1/2 packet baking powder 600g fresh cherries (with stones) or 1 jar of cherries (without juice) 180 degrees top/bottom heat 50-60 mins Swabian term: bogga = to be stubborn, to be obstinate
