On Tuesday, October 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Paris 10th, the La Boétie Institute organized the third and final session of the chair of the philosophy department with Michael Löwy, dedicated to "Franz Kafka, rebellious dreamer". On the occasion of the reissue of his book Franz Kafka, rebellious dreamer for the centenary of the author's death, published by Le Retrait, Michael Löwy came to present his revolutionary reading of the work and life of the author of The Metamorphosis and The Trial: a work filled with rebelliousness in every sense of the word. From the revolt against the father to the libertarian protest against the murderous power of bureaucratic apparatuses, Kafka's work and life follow a common thread: that of anti-authoritarianism. Through the story of his life, his links with the anarchist circles of Prague, the analysis of his most important short stories as well as his unfinished novels, Michael Löwy reveals the formidably critical and subversive dimension of Kafka's work, so often hidden.
