We continue our series of trips around Belarus. This time we will visit FORT I. Fort I was built in 1878-1880 five kilometers north of the Citadel. This structure belongs to the first stage of strengthening the fortress. The fort is a pentagonal earthen battery consisting of a glacis, a dry moat and an internal rampart, in which there are eight separate brick casemates and three posterns leading into the moat.
