Loramaryanda Putri or familiarly called Umi Lora, has been planting bamboo in the foothills of Mount Tangkuban Parahu for 24 years. This 59-year-old woman was moved to plant bamboo because she saw people often cutting down trees for building materials, causing the foothills of the mountain to become arid. @loramaryanda_putri chose to plant bamboo because it is a good oxygen producer, as well as storing water and preventing erosion. Until now, Umi Lora has planted 50 types of bamboo plants on 20 hectares of land at the foothills of Mount Tangkuban Parahu at her own expense.
