Makbule was born in 1959 in Milas, Muğla. She spent her childhood and youth in a family environment full of music; in an environment where lullabies, Aegean and Island folk songs, and Rembetiko were said to be played. She graduated from Ege University, Department of English Language and Literature. Makbule Kaya is a female voice that has won first place in many Folk Music competitions in our country. She became a TRT Artist in 1981. She was a guest on over ten thousand radios and around 500 television programs and gave around 2000 solo concerts.
