The Flood of February 1953 is the worst natural disaster of the past century with 1836 deaths. We were convinced that we had tamed the sea, but we were mistaken about the power of nature. After the disaster we built new, higher dikes and the Delta Works must protect large parts of our country against high water. In a series of five short newsreels we follow the disastrous events of 1953 from day to day. And we look to the future. Are we safe now? #flooddisaster #nos #journaal
