FLOATING MARKET FOOD Tour of Mekong Delta VIETNAM ►Facebook: / dinhvohoaiphuong ►Page: / khoailangthang ►Instagram: / khoailangthang ►Email: [email protected] Recently, there have been many reports about the ambiguity and overcharging of boat rental prices, so it's best to set a price before going. Last time Khoai went, it was 100,000 VND/boat. Hearing your feedback, I was also sad... NOTE: The floating market opens at 5am and closes around 7am. The market will also be crowded depending on the season, fruit season (May-October), and the flood season will be more bustling. In other seasons, the market will be quieter and have fewer boats. Today, Khoai went to Nga Nam Soc Trang floating market, one of the most crowded floating markets in the West. Other famous floating markets are Cai Rang floating market, Cai Be floating market and Long Xuyen floating market. Unlike the Thai floating market which was established mainly to develop tourism, the floating market in the West was formed from the need to buy, sell and exchange goods of people living in the river area for generations. At Nga Nam floating market, boats from the provinces of Hau Giang, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau, Kien Giang, Can Tho,... will gather here from 4 or 5 am, the big boats are usually traders buying from farmers, the smaller boats are from smaller traders, coming to get goods to small markets to resell, there are also boats specializing in selling food, drinks, pork, groceries,... bustling not inferior to any market on the mainland. The prices of goods here are extremely cheap, noodles, vermicelli with fish sauce, vermicelli with crab, about 15,000 VND for a hot bowl, fruits, vegetables are calculated at wholesale prices as cheap as buying at the garden. I guarantee that when you come here, you will be surprised at how cheap the fruit is, pineapple 1,500 VND 2,000 VND a fruit, strawberry 7,000 VND a kilo, melon 4,000 VND a kilo... If you have the opportunity to pass by Nga Nam, remember to wake up early, sit on a sampan, let your soul follow the water of the rustic countryside, then you will understand why I love the West so much. __ I'm Khoai.
