Around 180 visitors, three Alzheimer's researchers, many answers: That was "Under the microscope... Alzheimer's researchers inform". Organized by the non-profit Alzheimer Research Initiative eV (AFI), the largest private sponsor of Alzheimer's research in Germany, the event took place on April 17, 2015 at the Düsseldorf adult education center. "I'm happy that I can help today; normally the AFI helps me," said Alzheimer's researcher Prof. Dr. Christa E. Müller from the University of Bonn at the event. In her lecture, she presented her research into the caffeine-based active ingredient MSX-3, which she developed. This "super caffeine" is many times more effective than normal caffeine in protecting the brain and could be a promising approach in the search for new treatment options for Alzheimer's disease. #alzheimer #alzstoppen #ichbeugevor Further information on Alzheimer's disease and current research can be found on the Alzheimer Research Initiative eV website www.alzheimer-forschung.de.
