Kumano Nada, located south of the Kii Peninsula, is one of the best spots in Japan to catch yellowfin tuna. MALINA, an angler active in the Kansai region, tackled this area where yellowfin tuna over 100kg are sometimes caught. It was in this area that she once caught a tuna over 50kg. The fishing method is casting, where you throw a sinking pencil or popper into a school of bait and let it eat. If the fish gets the initiative even once, it will get away. This type of fishing requires not only power but also tactical technique. During her fishing trip, MALINA caught a boiling big tuna, and brought it on the hook.
