Hello, friends! ???? My name is Alina, and if you have just arrived in Spain or are planning a move, then this video is especially for you! Today I will tell you about the first 10 steps that will help you successfully adapt to a new country. Let's get started! ???????? 1️⃣ Rent an apartment for a month instead of a hotel It is better to rent an apartment for a month in advance than to book a hotel. It is cheaper and more convenient - you will have time to find permanent housing without rushing if the area does not suit you. 2️⃣ Make copies of all documents Be sure to make copies of your passport, visa, insurance and other important documents. Upload them to Google Drive or any cloud service so that you always have access to them. 3️⃣ Buy a SIM card The first thing you need to do upon arrival is buy a local SIM card. It is needed for navigation and communication. You can buy it at the airport or any communications store. 4️⃣ Find a Mercadona Mercadona is one of the best supermarkets in Spain. You can find everything from groceries to household goods here. A great place to start your adjustment. 5️⃣ Open a bank account You will need a local bank account for ease of payment. Some banks even allow non-residents to open an account. Bring your passport and proof of address. 6️⃣ Go on MeetUp A good way to make friends and get settled in is through MeetUp events. There you can easily find people with similar interests and learn more about life in Spain. 7️⃣ Find a permanent home After the first month, start looking for a long-term home. Use websites like Idealista, Fotocasa or ask realtors to help you find one. 8️⃣ Get a residence permit (empadronamiento) Once you have rented a home, you will need to register with the town hall to get a residence permit. This is an important step that will be required for further actions, such as opening a bank account. 9️⃣ Get a Residence Card (TIE) If you have a long-term visa, get a Residence Card (TIE). This is the main identification document for all non-residents in Spain. ???? Get public health insurance Sign up for the social security system and get Seguridad Social to have access to free health services in public clinics. ✨ Conclusion: These steps will help you adapt to life in Spain easily and quickly. If you have any questions, write in the comments - I will try to answer them all!
