This is the 1973 film 'The Outlaws of the Plains'. The original title is 'High Plains Drifter'. If translated, it would be something like 'The Drifter of the Highlands'. It is a film in a different context from the previously reviewed 'The Outlaws of the Plains' or 'The Outlaws of the Sunset', and it is the second film in which Clint Eastwood participated as a director. What makes this film special is not only because it is 'Clint Eastwood', but also because it deviates slightly from the formula of a Western film. It is not the formula of a good weakling, an evil strongling, and an apostle of justice, but it is different from the typical Western film in that it features a townsman who kills an executor to get the gold, three villains who were stabbed in the back by them and went to prison, and a judge who commits various evil deeds, which I could not include in the review. It is a film that feels even more realistic and harsh during the pioneering period because of that. At the end, it even gives a mysterious feeling through the description that the man was the incarnation of the dead Duncan. The film was a box office success, earning three times its production cost of $5 million. If you like Western films, If you are a person, I highly recommend you watch it at least once.
