Explore vast, wild places where endless discoveries await in Pokémon Legends: Arceus on Nintendo Switch. Observe, catch, and research wild Pokémon in this action-RPG set in a time when humans and Pokémon rarely lived together. Your adventures take place in the majestic natural surroundings of the Hisui region, where you research Pokémon to create the region’s first Pokédex. Which will one day become the Sinnoh region in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, these lands are home to natural wonders, stunning scenery, and a host of wild Pokémon. Some will be familiar, while others will be completely new! The enigmatic Arceus is said to hold the key to solving a strange phenomenon affecting certain Pokémon in the region. How will this Mythical Pokémon be connected to your adventure? Welcome to Team Galactic! Team Galactic is made up of a variety of people who have traveled to Hisui to investigate this mysterious region. You’re the newest addition to Team Galactic’s research division, and your job is to scour the far corners of Hisui in search of Pokémon species. When a mission comes up, depart from Jubilee Village, Team Galactic’s main base of operations, and travel to one of Hisui’s biomes to begin your investigation. Field Work: From lush forests to snowy mountains, Hisui’s wild Pokémon hide in tall grass, deep swamps, and high up in the trees. They may even notice researchers in their habitat. Some Pokémon will happily greet you, but others will be easily spooked—or attack you on sight! Make sure you observe Pokémon from a distance to get a feel for their behavior and decide how best to approach them. Approach your target quietly, crouch in tall grass to avoid being detected, and when the opportunity presents itself, aim carefully and throw a Poké Ball. If the Pokémon doesn’t immediately run away from you, you’ve caught it! Your job isn’t just to catch Pokémon, mind you. Complete Pokédex tasks to progress your research, and doing so will help you rank up, allowing you to explore more of the Hisui region. Let the battle begin! If you encounter a Pokémon that resists, toss a Poké Ball containing one of your Pokémon to begin the battle. During the battle, the number of actions and the order in which you can perform them depend on a variety of factors, such as your Pokémon’s attributes. To balance the scales, switch between two unique styles of Pokémon attacks: Quick Style and Strong Style. The Benefits of the Job: Research work has its ups and downs! Visit one of the base camps scattered around Hisui to take a well-deserved break with your Pokémon after a long day of work. You’ll also find workbenches here where you can craft useful items like Poké Balls and Smoke Bombs from the materials you collect. And if you get tired of walking, call upon special Pokémon to carry you from place to place! Run across vast landscapes, cross large bodies of water with ease, or soar through the skies while taking in spectacular views. A blessing—or a curse? In the Hisui region, there are Pokémon known as Lords. They are treated with great respect, but a strange phenomenon causes them to become enraged and difficult to calm. As a member of the Research Division, you must appease these imposing Pokémon. Keep an eye out for Alphas, too! These enraged Pokémon with glowing red eyes will chase and attack investigators without a moment's hesitation. If an Alpha spots you, be prepared to run away or engage in battle.
