Vanni De Luca invites us, with this powerful talk, to discover how the seemingly most impossible things, if approached with the right approach, actually turn out to be much easier than they seem. A mathematical illusionist, expert in martial arts, and an authentic human calculator, Vanni De Luca won the Italian Mentalism Championship in 2015 and in 2016 he was awarded the title of Italian Magic Champion and World Street Magic Champion. He is the only artist in the world to bring the Multiple Wonders on stage, the most complex number ever created in the history of mentalism: in a few minutes and at the same time Vanni solves a Rubik's cube and 4x4 matrices by reciting from memory a canto from Dante's Divine Comedy, freely chosen by the audience. Inspired by the spectacular feats of human supercomputers of the 1920s, true phenomena of the early twentieth century Variety Show, Vanni has developed an infallible method for remembering gigantic packets of information: he can memorize more than 150 names read on the doorbells of a street and knows the day of the week for any date in history. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
