https://nova.rs/video/?ref=yt Nothing in the world we know can compare to the moment of birth of a new life, and the preciousness of this moment, no one has the right to take away from the mother, emphasizes the guests of the new Mamazjanija, Marina Mijatović, lawyer and Dušica Kovačević, VMS midwife and owner of "Baby Patrol" who, in an episode specially dedicated to pregnant women and mothers in labor, prepare future mothers for the "match" that awaits them in the maternity ward. In Serbia, unfortunately, women are massively ill-informed and uninformed about what awaits them during childbirth, and first-time mothers, unfortunately, must know their rights when they arrive in the delivery room, but also during their stay in the maternity ward. Due to lack of information, many went "barefoot over thorns" while bringing their baby into the world, and childbirth, as such, was the least of their worries. The attitude of certain doctors, gynecologists-obstetricians, anesthesiologists, as well as nurses, midwives, is such that, unfortunately, it involves insults, shouting, unpleasantness and brings women into a state of spasms, panic, paranoia, trauma, which leaves consequences for the baby's health. The guests of the new Mamazjania explain that it doesn't have to be like this, that a woman has all the rights in the maternity ward and in the delivery room, that she can be informed about what she can ask, change, decide. The system, on the other hand, should be set up properly, not haphazardly. A woman must not be afraid of a doctor who will be on call at the time of delivery, she is not obliged to "reserve" a gynecologist, whom she previously pays in a private practice, and in the end, it often happens again, to experience discomfort, obstetric violence and, under trauma, with the baby in her arms, she goes home. Our guests explain what a woman should know before going into labor and what all the rights of expectant mothers are in the maternity ward. They wonder where the unwritten rule that a pregnant woman has to manage her pregnancy privately, in order to "ensure" herself a doctor during childbirth, comes from. They also question why the health system in Serbia does not "copy" positive practices from developed countries, which have long since changed the procedures and protocol when it comes to childbirth and the attitude towards women in the maternity ward, and what are the main steps for changes in the health system in the field of maternity and childbirth . They also explain how to prevent obstetric violence and discomfort during childbirth, but also how a woman after the trauma of violence during childbirth faces what she went through and how she decides to have a new pregnancy. Our guests spoke about these and many other pressing questions, which are of interest primarily to pregnant women, but also to mothers who have experienced minor or major trauma, looking back on their many years of experience in working with women, Marina from the point of view of law, which must be available everyone, and Dušica from working with pregnant women, who prepares her for the most important day in her life.
