She begins to eat healthier, then she eats less and less, and finally she skips entire meals. Krissi's thoughts only revolve around calories, diets and losing weight. The constant hunger gives her a feeling of strength and superiority. Krissi keeps slipping into underweight - she is weak and sleeps badly. After graduating from high school, she pulls the emergency brake: She goes to a doctor who diagnoses her with the eating disorder anorexia nervosa (colloquially known as anorexia). During an inpatient stay in a clinic, Krissi undergoes therapy with the expectation that it will cure her completely.
