Once a year, the elite of young butchers meet for the national butchers' competition and look for Germany's best butcher's salesperson and Germany's fittest young butcher. The national butchers' competition demands everything from the young candidates that they have acquired during their three-year training in the butcher's trade: skill, endurance and strength, but above all, nerves of steel and the ability to concentrate. All 18 disciplines of the two-day competition are not only technically demanding, but also have to be completed within a tight time limit.
