This time we will look at the features of the Lucas rear brake caliper with a piston diameter of 38 mm. The caliper is installed on a number of very common cars, namely: Nissan Primastar, Opel Vivaro. The caliper has a built-in handbrake mechanism. This is easy to notice on the back side, on which the drive levers are located. The upper lever is fixed to the handbrake mechanism rod. The mechanism itself is located inside the housing. In the video, we will show how to disassemble the caliper. Only after making sure that all the parts are in good condition and there are no signs of corrosion, we replace the repair kit and assemble the caliper. To install the parking brake mechanism and mount the retaining ring, a special tool MS30001 is used. Using this tool, you can compress a powerful spring and be sure that the stopper has taken its place. After assembly, the caliper is checked for serviceability of the handbrake drive.
