The most interesting tournament, the 2023 Carp Fishing Championship of the Republic of Adygea, which took place on the Klondike reservoir, has ended! Several tasks were set at once at this tournament. The first was to successfully perform at the main regional tournament ourselves, the second task was to help our charges, the young team "Mr. Carp", in raising their sports rank. By the way, the tournament was held in a pair-team format. The second pair with us in the team was Vadim and Denis, a very young, but already falling hopes carp angler of 16 years old! We got a combination of 7 and 18 sectors, quite combative, quite allowing us to fight for prizes in the personal in the 18th sector and in the team standings. The relief of sector 18 was as follows (120-125 meters to the opposite bank): - a small flat section from 115-117 to 101 m - snags at 100-90 m, - then a silty section, - a harder bottom at 80-70 meters, - an interesting section from 55 to 45 meters. It was decided to make 2 feeding points at 75 and 45 m, but to clip and try to fish also behind the line of snags at 105-107 m. Carp fishing was significantly complicated by the beginning of carp spawning, as evidenced by the low activity of this fish during the entire tournament and information from the owners of the reservoir. However, this is what makes the Klondike sports reservoir so wonderful: in addition to carp, there is a significant number of grass carp from small sizes to trophy specimens. The choice of the already well-proven STRAWBERRY LIQUID (in our opinion, the most beloved by Amur fish) https://asvcode.ru/prikormka-dlya-kar..., justified itself from the very start. After the first responses from the 105 m point, we decided to make a small feeding spot there (with a minimal addition of a whole nut), lure the fish out of the reeds with a food signal and place our bait in this direction, a yellow wafter with a PVA stick. During the tournament, the following trend was observed: during the day, the 105 m distance worked better, at night 75-80 m was actively included, and single fish came to the 45-50 m point. On the third day, a serious wind blew, and since we moved further to a distance of 115 m (closer to the reeds), it was decided to test the new Kevlar 3.5 oz rods in combat conditions. Throughout the tournament, we fought for 1st place in the zone (in this tournament, this would also mean 1st place in the personal competition), but in a tough fight, our friends, the pair Prokhorov Valery and Mukov Vyacheslav, made a breakthrough before the last night and overtook us! As a result: 2nd place in the zone and “bronze” in the pairs competition.
