Based on the story by A. Sharipov "The Partisan's Daughter". In the first days of the war, the mother of ten-year-old Aigul, the daughter of a Soviet officer, dies. The sick, exhausted girl is hidden by an old miller and his grandson Fedya. In front of the children, the Germans kill the grandfather, suspecting him of having ties to the partisans. The children are left alone. In search of partisans, the fascists conduct general searches and during one of them they discover a Kazakh girl. She is threatened with deportation to Germany as an exotic souvenir - "an Asian girl from Russia" - for the wife of the German Volmer. Fedya, with the help of fellow villagers, manages to kidnap Aigul. But the courageous girl comes out to the Germans, since the order was given to hang every sixth resident of the village. And at the moment when the punishers were ready to triumph, the partisans surround the square.
