I'm Hiro Honegawa, a film director with 23 years of experience driving an FD3S. I headed north from Kawaguchi JCT on the Tohoku Expressway, the longest expressway in Japan, to see how far I could go on a full tank. The vehicle was an FD3S RX-7 (6th generation TYPE-RB). It was almost fully stock. I tested it not in an extremely fuel-efficient driving mode, but in normal driving mode. The speed was mainly 80-90km/h (100km/h when overtaking).
