The first stage takes us from the start in Gersfeld in the Rhön Biosphere Reserve to the baroque city of Fulda. There we explore the famous Fulda Cathedral, look at the city palace and the beautiful old town. Fulda is definitely worth a visit. The second stage takes us along the Fulda through the idyllic Fulda Valley towards our destination. We go to Bad Hersfeld. There we marvel at the Bad Hersfeld Collegiate Church. It is considered the largest Romanesque church ruin in Europe. The 73rd Festival is taking place here this year. This is why the city is also known as the Salzburg of the North. The third stage of the Fulda cycle path is very idyllic. It takes us to Rothenburg an der Fulda with its fairytale characters. We marvel at over 300 half-timbered houses that date back to 1800. We can definitely recommend a visit to one of the most beautiful cities in Hesse. The next highlight on the route is the Haydau Monastery. The monastery complex is around 800 years old. Then a sporty workout awaits us: to get to the other side of the Fulda, we have to take the cable car to the other bank. That's fun. We soon reach our destination for the day: the Bartenwetz town of Melsungen. One of the most beautiful towns in Hesse. The fourth stage of the Fulda cycle path is definitely our favorite stage. The landscape is totally varied, really beautiful and we can absolutely recommend this cycle path to you. The first big stop is the Documenta city of Kassel. Here we cycle through the Karlaue Park towards the mighty Orangery. Then comes the most beautiful section of the Fulda cycle path. Here the Fulda makes an impressive loop and is huge. The cycle path runs directly along the Fulda loop. Our day ends in Hannoversch Münden, the city of three rivers. Here the Werra and Fulda flow together to form the Weser. We are in southern Lower Saxony, on the border with Hesse. Hannoversch Münden is one of the most beautiful half-timbered towns in Germany. The last stage of the Fulda cycle path now runs along the Weser to Bad Karlshafen. The town is a saltwater spa and has a very sophisticated feel. The baroque, white houses at the harbor are pretty.
