Recently, several expensive foreign fan sensors have failed, and before that, several domestic ones. The reason for the failure is moisture ingress and contact corrosion. Possible causes are low quality parts and an unsuccessful installation location. What is the danger - since the circuit implies a constant + on the fan relay, then in the event of oxidation of the contacts, the fan always works and if you do not pay attention to this, you are guaranteed to drain the battery. And all the ensuing problems. The normal resistance of the sensor in the off state is infinity, in the on state, fractions of an ohm. If the resistance of the sensor differs from infinity on a cold cooling system, then you have the same case as me .. and you need to ground the sensor, since it may not turn on at all due to oxidation of the contacts inside.
