Discovering the French Southern Lands Kerguelen, Crozet, Amsterdam, Saint Paul, and Terre Adélie General discovery of these lands at the end of the world in 2006/2007, the Marion Dufresne, both a supply ship, troop carrier, scientific support, and cruise ship for tourists passionate about Crozet and its islands - Ile de la Possession with its base Ile de l'Est - Ile aux cochons - Ile des pengouins - Islets des apôtres - The Kerguelen archipelago - Mount Ross and its Cook glacier - The base of Port aux français - Port Jeanne d'arc - Port Couvreux - Heritage - Saint Paul and its central crater invaded by the sea - Amsterdam and its base Martin du Viviés - Paradise of whalers in the 19th century and lands of many shipwrecks, the islands of Crozet, Kerguelen, Saint-Paul and Amsterdam located between the "forties "roaring fiftieths" in the middle of the Indian Ocean, are part of the French Southern and Antarctic Lands. These lands where the rocks do not seem to grow straight and where the waterfalls are pulverized before reaching the ground, are home to environments of penguins, elephant seals, albatross, ... Their wild and preserved nature, their grandiose sites, their abundant and exceptional fauna, fascinate the privileged few who access them. This film is a tribute to nature. Man is deliberately absent, in order to give all its place to the strength of the landscapes. The director: Jean-Michel Bou de la Meschaussée, professional diver, director cameraman, also specialist in aerial shots in difficult conditions is on this mission. He has already made the trip many times and has produced an impressive stock of animal, underwater, aerial images in Crozet, Kerguelen, Amsterdam and St Paul. He is known to the TAAF authorities and the flight crew of the Marion Dufresne, which allows him to obtain privileged points of view on this unusual report.
