External exposure meter: measurement in incident, reflected, spot light. Lately we have often received questions about external exposure meters, in particular whether, considering the extremely high reliability and precision of modern digital cameras and, last but not least, the possibility with mirrorless cameras to see in real time all the corrections set, exposure, contrast, color, white balance, etc., can an external exposure meter still be useful? In this test we used an excellent exposure meter, the Sekonic L-508 Zoom Master, our faithful companion in our shooting sessions both indoors and outdoors. In fact, in certain areas and to have maximum consistency and precision of results, the use of an external exposure meter, even today, is, if not essential, strongly recommended.
