Discrepancies were identified in the statements of the two military police officers involved in the death of the medical student in a hotel in the south of São Paulo. The officer responsible for the shooting that killed Marco Aurélio Acosta, 22, reportedly said that they were called to respond to an incident. His colleague, however, stated that the patrol car was on patrol when they found the young man and decided to approach him. In the police report, the officers said that they had their body cameras turned off, but the Secretary of Public Security reported that the device was working and recorded images.
